Day 1 Dublin Diary

Hi all,

Up at 04:30 am, eating sausage and egg at the airport by 07:00am! Got shafted by rubbish baggage allowance rules, but survived by transferring shoes and books to handbag!

Flight was fast! Arrived in Dublin ahead of schedule. Collected and transfer to the hotel in a green paddywagon bus, photos to follow. Looked rather sophisticated! Mum got chatted up by the driver. Hilarious start to the holiday!

Hotel is adorable, although the rooms are tiny! Had siesta upon arrival. The weather is gorgeous here.

Mum crapped out of the 1st traditional pint at the airport, but it was only 06:30am. Had our 1st pint at a local Irish pub. Also had fabulous Irish Stew, yum.

Have visited O'Connell St, Temple Bar, Dublin Castle, Dublinia & Christ Church Cathedral (we crept into the crypt, but it was crap!). Everything else very cool!

Also saw some fabulous Russian sailors, will be tracking them down later for photo opp! Very Letter to Breznev.

Off on Irish Literary Pub Crawl tonight. We are in for a Wilde night!

Will transfer today's photos tonight!
